Quick fixes
Nox stopped blocking my apps
Open Night Bandit. If Home says Not protected, the line under it says why, and the button under it opens the right setting. On Android, check that:
- Usage access and Display over other apps are still allowed for Night Bandit;
- battery use is set to Unrestricted. On Samsung phones, also add Night Bandit to Never sleeping apps (Settings → Battery → Background usage limits), and never use Force stop.
The camera doesn't recognise my spot
- Turn a light on. In the dark, the torch turns on by itself.
- Stand roughly where you were when you scanned it, and hold the phone still.
- If Nox can't recognise it within 90 seconds, you get in anyway. You still did the walk.
- If a spot keeps failing, Nox suggests swapping it. You can swap targets outside the curfew.
Websites aren't blocked (Android)
Website blocking needs Android's accessibility setting: Settings → Accessibility → Installed apps → Night Bandit website blocking. It works in browsers that show an address bar. A page opened inside another app's own browser can't be seen: block that app instead.
The curfew started late (Android)
Allow Alarms and reminders for Night Bandit in your phone's settings, and check the battery setting above.
How to turn protection off
You can always turn Night Bandit off. It's your phone. What we did is make switching off cost something, so it doesn't happen on a 1 a.m. impulse. Here's every way out, and what each one costs:

| Turn off website blocking (Android accessibility settings) | Instant, but every browser is blocked during the curfew until you turn it back on. |
| Turn off Usage access or Display over other apps (Android) | Instant. Night Bandit stops blocking and doesn't pretend otherwise: Home says Not protected, and your Progress records that protection stopped. |
| Uninstall the app | Instant. Everything it stored is deleted: targets, history and streak. |
How to uninstall
Android
Touch and hold the Night Bandit icon, then tap Uninstall. Or go to Settings → Apps → Night Bandit → Uninstall. Settings is never blocked, so this always works, even during the curfew.
iPhone
Touch and hold the Night Bandit icon, tap Remove App, then Delete App. The restrictions it set are removed with it.
Uninstalling deletes everything: your targets, your streak, your history. There's no online copy to restore from. To start fresh but keep the app on Android, use Settings → Apps → Night Bandit → Storage → Clear storage.
